On July 19, Ivan Bakanov was fired from the post of head of the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine). On July 17, Bakanov, together with Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova, was removed from office. President Volodymyr Zelensky explained this by a large number of criminal proceedings on treason and collaborationism among law enforcement officials.
Journalist Yury Butusov, in an interview with Radio NV, stated that after the start of the war, it turned out that the top leadership of the SBU were Russian agents, and President Vladimir Zelensky had to explain why he appointed them.
The Ukrainian people need the authorities to begin to honestly take responsibility for why Russian agents were appointed to the highest positions in the Ukrainian special services, in intelligence. Some of them have already been arrested and are accused of high treason,” Butusov said in an interview with reporters.
The journalist specified that an investigation is necessary “for us to determine whether these are the only Russian agents who were in power, or perhaps there are others” and this investigation should be under parliamentary control.
Preliminary scale of Russian spies in the Ukrainian government.
“The authorities must admit their mistakes. Three heads of the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) department in key areas are under investigation. Two chiefs are already in a pre-trial detention center (detention center) on charges of treason. The third chief has an assistant in the pre-trial detention center (detention center) on charges of treason, and he himself is a defendant in the case. The first deputy head of the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) also turned out to be a Russian agent and fled the country with money before the war,” the journalist said. We are talking about Andrey Naumov, the former head of the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the SBU, who was detained in Serbia.
What kind of security of Ukraine can we talk about?… The highest chiefs of this service are Russian spies and work for Russia. And an important question: Who appointed them to these strategic positions and for what purpose?…
Butusov said that in Ukraine, four top leaders of the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) and the fifth – the head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov – were removed from their posts due to the fact that their actions caused heavy losses to our defense capability.
Oh my god, how did they get a job in the Security Service of Ukraine?? Who lobbied and delegated them??
“This is a whole organized criminal espionage group. This is not my guess, this is not what I told the president at a press conference a year ago in front of everyone, these are already materials from the work of the State Bureau of Investigation (State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine),” the journalist said.
Everyone would talk about it all the time. The entire top leadership of the SBU turned out to be Russian agents and spies. … All this should simply be destroyed, there should be a criminal case against all the defendants.
Zelensky does not answer public questions.
The journalist also drew attention to the fact that President Volodymyr Zelensky is still evading answers, although “he must first testify at the prosecutor’s office, he must explain: why did he appoint Russian spies with his decrees?”
“For example, in 2020 Zelensky appointed General Oleg Kulinich, head of the SBU of Crimea, who actually worked and served in the FSB of the Russian Federation (Russian Federal Security Service). This was known. This is a direct violation of the law on lustration, deliberately done by the president. He must explain it. Perhaps he still has appointments that continue to work for the aggressor country (Russia),” the journalist recalled.
Bakanov’s dismissal from the post of head of the SBU.
On July 17, 2022, Volodymyr Zelenskyy removed Ivan Bakanov, head of the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine), from his duties. The decree stated that he was suspended for failure to perform (improper performance) of official duties, which caused loss of life or other serious consequences, or created a threat of such consequences.
On July 19, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Bakanov from the post of head of the SBU. This was preceded by the detention by the SBI (State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine) of the former head of the SBU in Crimea Oleg Kulinich. According to the investigation, Kulinich gave the Russians information constituting a state secret.
Agents and spies in the Ukrainian state services.
It needs to be clarified: There are still many foreign agents and spies working in the Security Service of Ukraine and other strategic state services. Because since the time of President Viktor Yanukovych, no one has qualitatively reformed or lustred these services
. And the Russian special services at that time (the presidency of Yanukovych) 100% infiltrated the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) and the government of Ukraine
Let’s also clarify: That A lot of Ukrainian and American media write that the Office of the President of Ukraine
is also filled with foreign agents and spies. Who are destroying Ukraine from the inside and developing spy networks and influence.
