Paradise for Ukrainian Corruption

On June 13, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the draft law “On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine on Improving the Efficiency of Plea Agreements”. But the content of this document rather creates a Paradise for Ukrainian corruption and not the other way around. A beautiful title: but the point is that this bill helps corrupt officials avoid punishment as much as possible. This law allows the imposition of a LESS SEVERE PUNISHMENT on those accused of corruption, if the criminal enters into a plea agreement and fully or PARTIAL damages are compensated. At the same time, it is not necessary for those accused of corruption to expose accomplices and other crimes known to them in order to reduce the punishment. That is, detectives and prosecutors will have less information about the entire criminal scheme and its participants!

Paradise for Ukrainian oligarchs

For example, with the oligarchs Kolomoisky or Bakhmatyuk. Thus, the current version of the draft law creates a loophole for the organizers of the schemes so that they can buy off responsibility. Deputies write laws that, instead of punishing corrupt people, release them from responsibility. But what motivates deputies and ministers to harm their own state? Because apparently they don’t write these laws for free. But every author of such a draft law has a Surname of Father’s Name. And there should be criminal liability for such shameful bills!! Because such laws harm Ukraine and free the hands of corruption. Which in the future can destroy the economic stability of Ukraine.

Absurd Ukrainian anti-corruption law

This bill allows you to agree on a LESS SEVERE punishment for the person involved or to replace his punishment with a PROBATION TERM. The project also envisages the possibility of imposing an additional fine on the person involved, the amount of which can reach up to 200 million hryvnias (for a particularly serious crime) and confiscating property. That is, it is possible to steal a billion, then pay compensation of 200 million and the court will assign a PROBATION TERM to the criminal as a punishment. A very profitable business! And this law was written by UKRAINIAN DEPUTIES and this document was approved by the CABINET OF MINISTERS. Who do they work for? It seems that the Ukrainian corruption mafia, and the deputies and the Cabinet of Ministers.

Summary of the anti-corruption examination: According to the results of the anti-corruption examination of the draft Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine on Increasing the Efficiency of Plea Agreements” (hereinafter referred to as the draft Law), the National Agency identified a corruption-inducing factor that would cause the risk of abuse by participants in criminal proceedings of their procedural rights

Also, the provisions of the draft Law are not consistent with the State Anti-Corruption Program for 2023-2025, approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 03.04.2023 No. 220 “On Approval of the State Anti-Corruption Program for 2023-2025” .
