Corruption Scheme in “Kyivzelenbud”: 25 Million Hryvnias in Kickbacks. Law enforcement has uncovered a large-scale bribery scheme within the municipal company “Kyivzelenbud.” The company’s leadership set up a system of kickbacks from contractors for completed work. According to the investigation, only in February 2025, officials received over 3 million hryvnias in illegal payments, and in total, they planned to collect at least 25 million over the year.
Among those detained are the company’s general director, his first deputy, and the head of the capital investment department. Representatives of private companies were also involved in the scheme. All suspects face up to 13 years in prison with confiscation of assets.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine charged an official from the Kyiv City Administration with obtaining a fake disability certificate, while police uncovered other officials stealing funds allocated for school shelter repairs.
Despite the ongoing war, corruption in Ukraine persists. While the frontlines suffer from a lack of ammunition, drones, and medical supplies, government officials shamelessly continue to enrich themselves at the expense of state funds — including aid provided by the United States and the European Union. Statistics show that Ukrainian courts still often side with corrupt officials, deepening public distrust in the government.
