Corruption in the Ukrainian army, the NABU and SAP have completed their investigation into large-scale corruption within Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense. Two suppliers allegedly illegally obtained over ₴733 million in 2022.
Corruption in the Ukrainian army by Oleksiy Reznikov
The scandal broke after Zerkalo Nedeli revealed that the ministry bought eggs at ₴17 each, triggering the resignation of Deputy Minister Viacheslav Shapovalov and later contributing to the dismissal of Minister Oleksii Reznikov in 2023.
The case is now in its final stage — the defense has access to materials before it goes to court.
Theft of US and EU military aid
Despite a severe shortage of ammunition, drones, and medical supplies at the front, officials in the Defense Ministry have the audacity to steal during wartime, misusing funds — most of which come from U.S. and EU military aid. According to statistics, Ukrainian courts often side with corrupt officials, further undermining public trust and international confidence in Ukraine’s institutions.
